ICARE II News and Research
Last updated Tuesday, October 10, 2006 - Added links to several
stories on the Fairgrounds from the Detroit News.
Add link to State
Auditors Report on Fairgrounds deal. Added link to Waldmeir
Column on Metro Park deal. Added link to Metro Park
take over story in the Detroit
News and Freepress.
New
links now preceded with the word New.
What they are saying about the Fairgrounds Racetrack
The following are links to stories in local online publications. These links
go directly to the stories at their sites. When this page was started, these
links all worked. Since then, most of these publications no longer make stories
available for more than a week on two. The Free Press and the News have a search
feature that will find headlines or keywords and show you the first paragraph of
the story for free. You can pay a fee to see the rest of the story. We have left
our original entries because they show the headlines and dates. You can copy
these to make a search at the originating publication..
Contents:
Note: We are in the process of changing our name from I.C.A.R.E. to I.C.A.R.E.
II and the style from I.C.A.R.E. II to ICARE II. Part of reason for the change
has to do with our reorganization from an add hock group into a non-profit
corporation. The "II" part refers to the fact that this is the second
time this group has had to fight a racetrack proposal at the Fairgrounds. In
these documents and other places, you may still see I.C.A.R.E. or ICARE.
